News in our Studio
Exceptional bows to be offered in the studio:
Last summer we had two rare bows in our studio.
There is a violin bow by Étienne Pajeot (1791 - 1849), a French bow maker. He started training at age ten with his father and by 13 he was building his own bows in his parents’ studio. "Etienne Pajeot is recognized as one of those who did some of the most beautiful work of his time..., he produced a large number of bows of remarkable quality, appreciated by musicians for their technicel possibilities and by collectors for their aesthetic qualities. "
The second bow was built by Francois Peccatte (1821 - 1855), who learned from the first sheet manufacturers (from Paris). His style was heavily inspired by his famous brother, Dominique.
"His production is very interesting, both from the point of view style, which was powerful and harmonious style, and from that of production , extensive and of good quality."

Active support at the studio
For two weeks, Maria Pietschmann completed in our workshop, a student internship. In the shop you could support us energetically. There were strung instruments and cleaned, ground in new vertebral and paint retouched. The greatest joy you prepared to import the special violins, because it plays itself since her 4th Years old or violin and piano a little. Violin lessons it is being lost to Mrs. Strong, and occasionally in Professor Winter. With her partner Friedemann Herfurth (cello), you already won an award at the Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Young Investigator Award.
During the two weeks enchanting melodies were heard. Mary's favorite composers are Peter Tschaikowsky, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Johannes Brahms.
We want to thank Mary for her help and with the goal of becoming a good violinist continued success.
Cello twins of Willi Lindörfer in our studio
We could experience a kind of the "family reunification" in our studio.
Willi Lindörfer (born in 1904) - a German violin master who made his own violin himself as a 15-year-old. Later he built copies according to the old masters. He had a distinctive feel for fine wood. We had two cellos which are similar almost like twins at the same time in our workshop. Also these both were built of quite special wood.
Cello I 1954, Weimar – cover comes from the floor wood of Goethe's summer house in Weimar.
Cello II 1954, Weimar – cover of beam and boards of the burnt down Stuttgart town castle.
The grounds, frames and the snails come from poplar wood of a Weimar street edge. Lindörfer instruments have a world-wide reputation and are played in North America and South America, England, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Hungary, Japan and Russia. Famous musicians like David Oistrach, Michael Waimann, professor Ludwig Hoelscher, professor Gaspar Cassado, Egon Morbitzer and professor Raderschatt have already played on his instruments.
250-year-old Testore-child violin appeared
We have a child violin of Paolo Antonio Testore, wich was constructed around 1750 in Milan. This is in sensational condition. All essential parts including the neck and the varnish, are of course orginal and belong together. A specific feature worth mentioning is that this one hand-hammered iron nail in the upper block.
This instrument is also available for sale.
